but it would require the conferences to change how they are setup and operated. It would have to be more of a pod structure to ensure that the top two teams in a conference make the champ game (rather than the current setup of the winners from each division).

So you could have regular season contracts. Conference champ game contracts. Second and Third round playoff contracts. Then the champ game contract.

All hypothetically of course.
